Course Description
This course will explain why laboratory ventilation is necessary. It describes specific types of laboratory ventilation and which operations are expected to be performed using local exhaust ventilation. It also describes UIC’s fume hood testing program.
Goals:
Understand generally the importance of lab ventilation
Learn how fume hoods work
Learn how to utilize a fume hood correctly
Find out how to get fume hood repaired
