Course Description

AAHRPP and the UIC Human Research Protections Program: What Investigators Need to Know

 

This training module:

·        Provides an overview of the AAHRPP accreditation process and explains how the “Shared Responsibilities” approach of the UIC Human Subjects Protection Program (HSPP).

·        Explains the UIC HSPP mechanisms for avoiding lapses of IRB approval, while explaining the process for protecting human subjects if there is a lapse of IRB approval.

·        Clarifies the types of events and unanticipated problems investigators need to promptly report to the UIC OPRS/IRB and explains the UIC OPRS/IRB process for reviewing the reports.

 

Please note:  Completion of this course in conjunction with HSPP 111 will give the user two (2) OPRS CE credits.
